All,
I am looking into buying a boxter and came across one that I wanted some advice on whether it was a good deal or not. Also, I wanted to see if there is anything that I should be weery about when looking at the 1999 Boxters.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Here is some info on the car:

VEHICLE INFORMATION
Year: 1999
Price: 14500
Mileage: 36200
Color: Blue
Transmission: Manual

Tuned exhaust with performance air intake system
18inch custom wheels
Top of line Alarm
No accidents, Non-smoker, Well maintained,

Thanks!

It's great deal. The car is great! I drive it. It easily cruses at 100mph and has great highway acceleration in 5th gear. I found that the exhaust wasn't loud enough so i installed one myself and it sounds like a beast.

Make sure you run a Carfax before buying it. Sounds like an okay deal.

$14500 is in the reasonable range for a 99. if it checks out, that's a good price - if those add-ons are things you want/like, then it's even better.

When you say top of the line alarm, is that an aftermarket alarm system?

Yes, that is a reasonable price.

I just bought a 1999 Boxster and found that the price for 986's is based more on their mileage than on the model year with the range going from about $10K for 90k+ miles up to ~$15K for 30K miles. You can just about draw a straight line in between those two points (in terms of price and mileage) and find where any car that you're looking at fits in. Above the line would be a car more expensive than average and below the line would be a pretty good deal. The car in this post is just about right in line with these numbers.

All of the above assumes that the car has been well maintained and is in Good to Very Good (but not nesscessarlily Excellent) condition with the most common options. A model S will be higher as well as any car that has a long option list or one with even a few of the most expensive factory options.
