I know it is somewhat inappropriate to post the same message in multiple threads but it doesn't seem like the introduction threads get much response so I'd like to put up my post in the general discussion area.

I'm a new member who just stopped in to ask for some help and assistance in purchasing a 2007 Boxster S.

I'm looking to buy a repo'd 2007 Boxster S. It is an automatic, black vehicle with just under 13,000km. It is up for auction on March 13 but I've been in contact the with finance company which owns the vehicle to see if we could get a deal set up prior to auction.

I'm wondering if some of the folks here can point me towards some things that I should check and look for when taking a look at the vehicle. I'm going to the auction lot this Friday (Feb 26) to see the vehicle.

I'm hoping the vehicle will have the owners manual in the glove box along with any service papers. I'm not sure when the vehicle was purchased but I'd assume there should be some factory warranty left on the vehicle. I haven't yet checked to see if it was repo'd from the original owner or if it has had multiple previous owners.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Run a CarFax to see the ownership history, reported accidents, warranty expiration date, etc. A repossesed car will likely only have one key and probably no manuals or documents. Call a Porsche dealership with the VIN# and they can give you the service history and warranty expiration. A 2007 should still have some warranty left, if not, I would pass. Make sure you plan on things you will need to buy like an extra key, manuals, tires, services and any needed reconditioning. If you have or can borrow a paint meter, run it over the car to check for body damage or paint work. Look under the car for leaks or damage. Check the wheels for curb rash, they can be expensive to refinish. Make sure the wind deflectors, nav disk if so equipped, floor mats, spare tire, and all other items are present. One plastic wind deflector can set you back over $100. Hope this helps
