I've just bought a 1998 boxster 2.5 which seemed great on the test drive. I bought the car sunday afternoon , and i've just been out and the rear brakes are making a right noise. Ive contacted the guy who i bought if off and he reckons the handbrake had been left on for about three weeks and this has happened before and it sorted itself after a couple of days ??? i paid over 6k and wondered if i had any rights if anyone knows ?? He told me had done some trading in the past, i think he shafted me to be honest :(

I would jack up the rear end and try to spin the wheels by hand (while in neutral). That way you will know if the brakes are grabbing, and if so it may just be a lubrication issue or the handbrake cable sticking. I don't think it is a big deal so far. What does the noise sound like? I squeaking?
