Can anyone shed some light as to what the numbers associated with the Boxsters are. For example I saw this posted with an item that was for sale..1997-2004 PORSCHE BOXSTER 986,

The first generation Boxster is known as the Model 986 and was sold from 1997-2004.

Generation Two was launched in 2005 and is known as the Model 987.
