I just bought a 2007 Boxster S and it has a single CD player with no Nav screen. I was told that I cannot get an ipod direct connect installed because it won't work without the Nav screen. The radio is a CDR-24. Does anybody have experience with this?

I have the bose surround sound and it works fine. I know that there are several aftermarket solutions for boxsters with a radio that has the nav screen. unfortunately i do not have this option. I did further investigation and it does not appear that there is a good solution to add an ipod. I could add an ipod but i would not see any songs or playliss on my radio's display.

I have an 07 S that the surround sound does NOT work properly. Dealership has replaced the rear amp twice and then gave me a piece of paper stating that the radio operates as it was designed (lots of techno mumbo jumbo), that if the radio doesn't get all the signal then it drops the surround sound. In the middle of a major city, this happens - even when I'm stationary at a light! I've complained to no effect. Probably have to replace the radio....any suggestions would be mucho appreciated!

I have the exact same problem with my bose system in my 08 S LE. The sound fades in and out even sitting still. They replaced my amp and then provided the sheet that described a reception problem. Hardly the ultimate sound experience described in the sales book. The system does not work properly and my local radio shops won't touch it. Since it tuned to the car's computer, the defective system cannot be fixed or replaced! Since Porsche can't fix it, I wonder if Bose knows that the system with their name on it does not work properly?
