I am looking at a 06 boxster S tomorrow that carmax has for 30,800 with 32k miles. I think thats a decent deal. They sell warrantys that can be serviced through Porshe dealership...are they worth it? There is still about 10 months left on the factory warranty.

Hi! My Boxster was a year old when I bought it and I managed to persuade the dealer to add an additional year warranty (to make it 3 years manufacturer warranty) for nothing as part of the deal. I am so glad I did this as on the 2 year anniversary when the original warranty would have expired, I had engine problems that would have cost a small fortune had I not extended the warranty. The recovery guy did say it was unusual to have the issues that I did, however if you can get the warranty extended as part of the deal, do it!
