Just got a 1997 Boxster from relative with less than 50000 miles ,it has a terrible knock in engine , What do you suppose this will cost for
engine rebuild or new engine. Relative said her mechanic said it needed rebuild. Car did not cost me anything YET ? I am in N.C. near Charlotte . Where should I start? Thanks for any info.

I would get a quote from my local Porsche dealer. Then you have a reputable diagnosis and a quote that you can compare others to.
