Door damage repair - need help

I have a 2002 Boxster that I'm getting ready to paint. Someone added to my task by backing their pickup truck into my driver door (just below the mirror). The trailer hitch made an 8" circular dent in the drivers door.

I'm pondering removing the interior door panel, airbag, and other stuff to see if I can bang the dent out from inside the door shell. I suspect that there won't be very much room to attempt this.

Does anyone know if this dent could be easily hammered out from the inside?

If not, I plan on pin welding it from the outside and pulling the dent out with a slide hammer.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Mark

Any chance you can find a door on a wrecked Boxster and just replaced the door before you paint the car?
