Unhappy rattle over bad surfaces

Hello Folks,

I am brand new to your great forum so please be gentle with me.

Our 2007 Boxster S 3.4 sport edition has developed a slight 'rattle' over bad surfaces. It does feel (sound!) like it gets worse as the car warms up. Suggesting perhaps a loose Rad? or poss' a shock absorber. (warmed up oil?) I have had a good look at the car myself and my service guy has also checked over the suspension (nearside) and can't find any play or indeed anything amiss.

Any thoughts?

I appreciate any help greatly.. Many thanks in anticipation.

Alex Black ( Fife Scotland).

I had a very similar issue. It was the heat shield between the muffler and the trunk bottom. I noticed it when I tossed something in the trunk and it made the rattle. Pound decent on the rear trunk bottom and see if it makes your sound. Only really did it when warm. Just pushing on the shield bent it enough to stop the rattle.

Thank you. I will check that. I should have mentioned though that this rattle appears to come from the front passengers side / nearside (UK).

It's driving me nuts!

Are all the underside covers / panels on tight and the wheel well covers?

I think they are. But I will stick it up on the ramp again. I think I am going to have to remove trim and covers to find my something loose and tighten / secure it. I have had a very good look already and so has Porsche and a specialist... Just can't tie it down..

Very irritating.
