Should I keep my Porsche Boxster, or trade in and buy a 911?
I'm buying a Porsche Boxster soon as a first car. Likely a '98. It's a very nice car, and I'm thrilled to get one. I'll be making about 25k-30k a year, so in a year I'll easily afford a 911. Here's my dilemma:
I want to modify my car. But, I don't want to modify it if I'm just going to trade in and get a 911. The 911 would be newer and nicer, and I would likely modify that as well. So:
Should I keep the Boxster and Modify it, and just wait til I can afford a 911 as a second car later in life?
Should I not modify the Boxster at all, and get a 911 when I can afford it and modify that instead?
P.S. The mods I'm looking to do are mostly appearance, not performance. Things like new rims, maybe new interior pieces, maybe a body kit or body kit pieces, a loud muffler, etc.
Update : I don't intend on making it a "frankenporsche". Just some simple mods to make it a bit more suitable to me. Nothing too extreme or over the top. If I were to get a 911, I would leave it more stock than modded. Just add a performance muffler, and some new rims.
Update 2: Everyone is saying 25k-30k a year is not enough. But I am 16, and live at home with my parents. At this point in time, I have nothing else I need to spend my money on, so I'll have plenty for the car.
Update 3: Also, let me add this. I HAVE done the math, and I know my yearly cost of ownership on the Boxster. I am plenty capable of affording it. Money, is not an issue in this.
